Most people know sheep for their white wool, but not all wool sheep grow white fleece. Some, including the Merino, Corriedale, and Polwarth breeds, can also grow beautiful, naturally coloured wool in a variety of different and wonderful shades. No two fleeces being the same. Traditionally, this wool has been loved by handcrafters who turn it into one-of-a-kind pieces.
We wanted to create something for people who don’t spin or knit, but still appreciate natural fibres and the stories behind them. Each product line we make is a little different, just like the wool it’s made from.
Compared to the past, coloured sheep are becoming rare in Australia, and without more awareness, they could further decline. By utilising and celebrating their wool, we help keep them a part of the Australian farming landscape. We feel naturally coloured wool is sustainable, renewable and environmentally a great choice.
